The Chairman of the Management Committee of (MFZ), Eng. Mohsen Al-Squtri, welcomed today a high-level delegation from the Italian company ENI, one of the world’s leading players in the energy sector. The meeting was also attended by the General Manager of (MFZ) along with directors of Marketing, Cooperation, and Investment.

The discussion focused on potential areas of cooperation and on how ENI could benefit from the Free Zone’s modern infrastructure — including its advanced port and logistics facilities — to support supply and maritime transport operations. Strategically located in the heart of the Mediterranean, (MFZ) is positioned to become a key hub for servicing offshore platforms and oilfields.

This visit is part of the Free Zone’s ongoing efforts to implement its flagship project: the Logistics Base for Oil & Gas Services. The project aims to build a fully integrated system of facilities and services that meet international standards, strengthening the Free Zone’s role as a regional supply center for the oil and gas industry.

The administration emphasized that this initiative will help attract global companies to operate from within Libya, encourage industrial and service-related investments, and contribute to diversifying the national economy while boosting competitiveness in a vital sector.
