As part of its efforts to attract European investments and expand international cooperation, the Misurata Free Zone hosted Mr. Fabio Giudici, Economic Attaché at the Italian Embassy in Libya, and Mr. Nicola Collecki, the Chairman of the Italian-Libyan Chamber of Commerce. The meeting was attended by the Free Zone’s General Manager, Eng. Ayman Darwish, and chaired by the Chairman, Eng. Muhsin Sigutri.
During the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to implement an integrated vertical aviation (helicopter) project through the Misurata Free Zone Port, including the establishment of specialized training and development facilities.
Following the signing, Eli-Fly inaugurated its new branch in the Misurata Free Zone. The event was attended by the Directors of Investment and Marketing, Eng. Wissam Abulifa and Eng. Aladdin Baba, alongside the company’s General Manager, Mr. Francesco Cominsoli.
Italian Partnership with Global Expertise
Founded in 1983 in northern Italy, Eli-Fly S.r.l. is a leading provider of vertical aviation and specialized air transport services. The company offers a wide range of services, including passenger air transport, logistical support for oil fields, ports, and emergency medical air services.

This project marks the company’s first operations in Libya. Through its new branch in the Misurata Free Zone, Eli-Fly aims to expand its services to support aviation and logistical operations across the country.

The MoU signed with the Italian-Libyan Chamber of Commerce is an additional step toward strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries and opening new avenues for investment in transportation, services, and energy.
With this initiative, the Misurata Free Zone confirms its commitment to developing an integrated investment environment and attracting leading global companies, in line with Libya’s sustainable development and economic transformation goals.
