A Strategic and Sustainable Vision for Development
The Free Zone management prioritizes the ongoing development of security and safety measures by offering internal and external training programs designed to:
Commitment to Excellence
The department’s efforts go beyond securing the zone, its staff, and stakeholders. They represent a strategic pillar that has elevated the port’s reputation and reinforced its position as a safe, competitive investment hub on both regional and international levels.
Environmental Responsibility and Protection of Surroundings
Through its Environmental Protection Division, the department safeguards the marine environment and surrounding areas with regular field inspections across the port and facilities. This reflects the Free Zone’s continuous development efforts, keeping the port at the forefront of Libya’s maritime sector.
The department also ensures the safety and quality of stored goods, food, and grains by maintaining a pest- and pollution-free environment in line with international standards. It also collaborates with specialized authorities to conduct comprehensive radiation surveys, ensuring a safe environment free of emissions and pollutants while reducing the risks from ships and marine activities.
Community Role and Social Responsibility
The Occupational Safety Division plays a vital humanitarian and community role by responding swiftly and effectively to emergencies both inside and outside Misurata. By September 2025, the firefighting team had undertaken more than 80 interventions to extinguish fires and respond to incidents affecting public institutions and private property. These actions highlight the Free Zone’s social responsibility, demonstrating courage, discipline, and commitment to protecting lives and assets.
