On December 16, 2015, the Council of Ministers of the Government of National Salvation issued a resolution of to establish an industrial and commercial free zone, for the purposes of transit trade, under the name (Tamanhint Free Zone).
Based in the remaining part of Tamanhint Air Base, this zone is affiliated to Misurata Free Zone and enjoys, along with investors therein, all the advantages and exemptions stipulated in Law No. (9) of 2000 (concerning Transit trade and Free Zones) as well as the administrative and financial provisions of Misurata Free Zone.
This zone aims to encourage transit trade, various manufacturing operations, and the establishment of industrial, commercial and service projects.
