His Excellency the Algerian Ambassador to the Libyan State and an accompanying delegation visited the city of Misurata this week, 15/04/2014, aiming to deepen the means of trade, economic and investment cooperation between the two brotherly Arab countries.

His tour of the city of Al-Samoud began with a visit to the headquarters of Misurata Free Zone. He was received by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, the General Manager, members of the city’s Local Council, members of the Misurata Businessmen Council, and members of the Free Zone Administration.

At the beginning of the reception, the brotherly guests were welcomed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors and the General Manager.  Then there was an introduction about the free zone and all the advantages and facilities it provides to investors as well as the laws on transit trade in force in the Misurata free zone.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors, through His Excellency the Ambassador, also called on Algerian businessmen to exploit the investment opportunities provided to localize investment projects in the free zone. He stressed measures taken to ease all procedures and obstacles in order to attract more investment projects and achieve the goals of the free zone in terms of creating new job opportunities and settling modern technology in the country. He noted the need to take into account the environmental standards in all projects implemented in the free zone.

For his part, the Algerian ambassador expressed his admiration for the work and efforts made by the administration and workers of Misurata Free Zone, pointing to his country’s willingness to build a bridge of cooperation between the two countries. He also indicated his desire to arrange for Algerian businessmen to visit the free zone in the future and discuss means and procedures to initiate cooperation between the two parties. At the end, he thanked the administration of Misurata Free Zone for the good reception and hospitality.
