On Sunday (April 15, 2018), a memorandum of understanding was signed between Misurata Free Zone and the Municipal Council of Ghadames to establish of Ghadames Free Zone, which would be affiliated with the Misurata Free Zone. The agreement included offering all necessary support to establish Ghadames Free Zone in accordance with principles and legislations governing transit trade and free zones as well as training personnel nominated by Ghadames Municipality at the Training Center of Misurata Free Zone. The agreement was based on a joint meeting between the municipalities of Misurata and Ghadames, which was held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 and sponsored by Misurata Free Zone with the theme: “the role of free zones in development and strengthening stability”.
