On Monday morning, February 11, 2019, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Libya, Mr. Lars Tomers, visited the Misurata Free Zone. He met with the Chairman of the Board, Dr. Al-Hussein Omar bin Hamida, the General Managers and the Directors of Departments. The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Misurata Free Zone opened the meeting welcoming the ambassador and thanking him for accepting the invitation, his positive role and determination to encourage businessmen in the Kingdom of the Netherlands to invest in various business fields (commercial, service and industrial) in the Misurata Free Zone. On this visit, he gave the ambassador a full account of the strategic plan and future projects of Misurata Free Zone, the transit trade project (Libya, the gateway to Africa). For his part, His Excellency the Ambassador praised the warm reception and hospitality and expressed his admiration for the vision of the future Misurata Free Zone and projects therein, confirming the visit of a high-level delegation from the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Misurata Free Zone in the near future. At the end of the meeting, the Chairman of the Board of Directors offered a memorial shield of Misurata Free Zone to the Ambassador as a souvenir.
