A scientific symposium organized by the Maghreb Union of Young Lawyers entitled (Free Economic Zones Between Legislation Texts and Economic Requirements) was held in the city of Djerba, in the Republic of Tunisia, on 12-14 April 2018, with participants from Tunisia, Libya, Algeria and Morocco.
Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Karwad, Head of Contracts and Agreements Department, participated in the symposium with a research paper entitled “Free Economic Zones in Libya and their Role in Supporting the National Economy; Misurata Free Zone as a Real Experience.”
The paper was well received by all, as it showed the Libyan experience in the work of free zones and transit trade, and dealt with the legal framework that organized the procedures of work and investment in these areas and the available ingredients. The experience of Misurata Free Zone was presented with respect to legislation and the motives for work.
